Asking for Help is the Hardest Step…Keep your Momentum
I think I need help…Now What?
1
Where do I start?
We recommend starting with a Peer Consultation to clarify what services may work best to meet your needs. Keep in mind while we do have a clinician on staff, you may benefit more from being connected with a peer support mentor or another provider. We want to set you up for success from the very beginning.
2
Stay Focused.
Once you have a better idea of what potential solutions look like you’ll be able to make an informed choice to pursue what works best for you. If you need help staying on track we recommend Peer Case Management because our Peer Coordinator can help set up appointments and, with your permission, make calls on your behalf to expedite services.
3
Maintain Progress.
Once you find what works best for you it’s important to maintain it! Our clinician recommends maintenance therapy visits, doctor visits, and check-ins with a peer mentor in order to maintain the hard work you’ve done on your wellness and recovery journey. We want to give you the tools to be able to maintain your progress on your own along with the knowledge of when you may need additional support.
-
You're in Control.
Our person-centered approach ensures that you are always in control of your treatment. You identify your goals. You determine the amount of effort to put forth. You set the pace. Progress toward your goal is measured by a reduction in the intensity, frequency, and duration of symptoms. Once you achieve your goals you will have developed the skills necessary to maintain them.
-
Schedule an Appointment.
You can schedule an appointment for a consultation directly from our website. Once your appointment request is approved we will send you an email with our intake paperwork. This paperwork typically takes anywhere from 10 - 15 minutes to complete and can all be submitted electronically via our HIPAA compliant online platform.
-
What to Expect.
After completing the intake paperwork you will attend your session either online via our HIPAA compliant platform or in-person. Whether you’re doing a peer consultation or therapy intake you can expect to review some of your intake paperwork, to answer clarifying questions, and to identify the goals you want to work on. A treatment plan will then be made to help you reach your goals.
Referrals and Existing Clients.
If an existing client, clinician, or physician has specifically referred you to our practice you’re welcome to call our office to schedule a therapy intake. If you are an existing client looking to schedule an appointment please reach out to your provider directly or call our office and we will assist you.
FAQs
Who do you consider to be a First Responder?
Police, fire, rescue, dispatch, nurses, doctors, veterans, etc. We also work with family members of first responders as well as referrals from current clients. Even if we can’t help someone we can point them in the right direction.
Do you take my insurance?
As of right now we are contracted with Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, Optima, and United insurance for our therapy services. If you have a different insurance we can always give you what’s called a Super Bill. A Super Bill is a bill that you pay after you receive the service, and then you submit to your insurance company to see if they will reimburse you any of the costs. If you don’t have insurance we can also discuss self-pay options, which are typically at a reduced cost.
Do you work with First Responders outside of Virginia?
At this time we are only licensed to provide services in the state of Virginia.
